Coaching dynamic duos for success
on the OVA tour!
Did you know that beach volleyball is one of the fastest growing sports in North America? In 2016, 474 teams competed at the Ontario Volleyball Association (OVA) Provincial Championships in Toronto! Now is the time for more youth volleyball players in this region to take their game into the sand!
For the past three years in Windsor-Essex, Coach Ryan Hoy and Coach Krisha Caronongan have provided personal beach volleyball training and coaching for aspiring female players in the region who are serious about their volleyball and want to compete on the OVA Beach Tour during the spring and summer months. Now there is even an OVA Winter Tour with tournaments at indoor sand facilities for players who want to extend their season!
We are passionate about the sport and we enjoy coaching new players who have the drive to excel on the tour!
Coach Krisha played on the youth tour for six years and enjoyed great success which included a bronze medal finish at the 15U Ontario Provincial Championships with her partner, Christina Caruso, as well as two top-five finishes at the National Championships. Even at five-foot-two, Krisha was among the strongest players in the Premier Division throughout her career.
For eight years while teaching physical education in Toronto, Coach Ryan developed youth beach teams that competed on the OVA Tour. His teams consistently competed in the Premier Division and on more than one occasion, they earned top-five finishes at the Provincial and National Championships.
Having now coached together for the past three years in Windsor-Essex, Krisha and Ryan bring a combined 20 years of playing and/or coaching experience on the OVA tour to their roles with Dynamic Beach Volleyball.
In 2017, the Dynamic Beach Volleyball teams won a total of 6 GOLD MEDALS in tournament play. This past summer, Ryan and Krisha coached local teams at tournament stops in Windsor, Lakeshore, Port Stanley, Grand Bend, Stratford, Hamilton, Brampton, Toronto, Ottawa, and Holland, Michigan.
We train players to compete competitively on the tour in age divisions from 12U to 18U. As part of our program, the girls are taught the physical, mental, and technical aspects of the beach game that will allow them to compete in OVA tournaments. Practices and training sessions are held year-round indoors and outdoors with a very low athlete-to-coach ratio. As a result, spots in the program are limited and try-outs are held for potential players. Indoor volleyball experience is recommended.
